So summer is half over and we have been very busy. We like to provide the platform for your sailing vacation, a long weekend on the Chesapeake Bay or a celebration of any kind. We are heading into cooler weather and lots more sailing.
We thank everyone who has chartered with us and we hope to see you again soon.

In addition to all the on-going boat maintenance, we have refurbished the bimini; it is now more waterproof, repaired the lazy-jack sail cover; it is now easier to open and close, and replaced the helms seat back. The following items are in progress as well:
  • Re-bed hatches and replace strut
  • Install LED anchor light
  • Bottom Painting
  • Replace Zincs
  • Service Winches
Check back, I will post some pictures when the weather gets a little more sunny.

New dinghy with greener motor

posted Apr 8, 2010, 4:46 PM by Jess Berndt   [ updated Nov 9, 2010, 5:26 PM ]

We have acquired a new dinghy with a more fuel efficient 4-stroke motor with lower emissions and no mixing oil in the gas. The whole package is lighter although the dinghy is the same size as the old one. This will make it easier to get to shore and back.

New toys on June Bug for 2010

posted Apr 8, 2010, 2:27 PM by Jess Berndt   [ updated Apr 8, 2010, 4:56 PM ]

We have two new "toys" on June Bug: A sophisticated light weight kayak, see picture below, for some exercise and nature exploration at your leisure. Let us know if you want us to assemble and inflate it for you in advance. It is not that complicated,  it may take 20 minutes the first time, 10 the next or just leave it assembled for the duration of your charter.
The other toy literally is a toy, it looks like a toy; it is a bright orange inflatable two-person kayak. It is surprisingly maneuverable  and easy to paddle.... except when it is windy, then it wants to turn sideways. Going downwind in it is easy; just stop paddling. Going upwind is a challenge. It is lots of fun and great for kids.
You are more than welcome to use these two new toys, don't forget your life vest and put your stuff in a waterproof bag.
